About us

Inspired by the highly successful @i7songszine, Soundtracks is a mixed for-profit and for-charity fanzine project comprising works inspired by the music and discography of the mobile game and mixed-media project, A3!.

Soundtracks is intended to be a multi-volume, long-term zine project due to the immense variety and scope of A3!'s music, with different volumes planned with various focuses:
Volume 1: Tentatively titled An Ode, this volume will focus on the 24 individual characters and the 8 troupe image songs

Volume 2: Projected as a 2021 project, this volume will focus on the music that accompanies A3!'s event stories and plays.

At this point, we only intend to focus on A3!’s game discography, but we may expand a Volume 3 to focus on the anime-exclusive tracks and the music of the A3! stage plays if there is enough interest.

Zine Specs and Info

Please note that all information in this section is subject to change as a result of the interest check survey and we plan on announcing when these specifications will be finalised!

Currently, Volume 1 is planned for:
+ B5 sized zine (printed and digital options available)
+ A minimum of 36 pages of fic and art
+ Merchandise bundles and stretch goals available

We expect to involve at least 24 artists and 8 fic writers for this project, and up to 5 merchandise artists. All numbers include mod participation in this project.

As a mixed for-profit and for-charity project, we expect to compensate each participant with a full bundle of the physical zine and all merchandise options available, plus any stretch goals that are unlocked during the pre-order phase. Any remaining funds (less production and shipping costs) will be split equally between all contributors, who have the option of either cashing out or donating their share to a charity of choice. Please note that contributors who are under 18 will automatically have to forfeit their shares to charity for legal reasons.

FAQ

What is a zine?
A zine refers to a compilation of unofficial fanworks, usually comprising artworks and fiction. It’s similar to a book or a miniature magazine.

Have the mods modded before?
You can find out more about the mods by heading over to the Mods page of this Carrd. Also, because we know you'll ask - both head mods of this zine are above 18.

Are minors allowed to apply/contribute to the zine?
Yes! Even if you are under the age of 18, we welcome you to apply and contribute to the zine! However, even though this is primarily a for-profit zine, you unfortunately will have to forfeit your share of the earnings to charity as we legally cannot pay minors for their services. Please keep this in mind if you are applying!

Are there any content limitations for this zine?
As we are accepting contributions from all ages, our only hard limitation is that all content needs to be SFW only.

How will mods communicate with applicants?
We expect most of our communication to take place over emails and our Discord server.

What timezone do you operate on?
Our mods are based in a variety of timezones, but for ease of reference, all dates/deadlines listed will be in PST.
